Glad to see this kind of site. We were, and still are the elite. It seems the older I get the more I appreciate the time I served. I look back at my life now and find that the things I am most proud of are my two beautiful daughters and my time as a Woman Marine. Many wonderful memories of my time at Camp Lejeune and Iwakuni, Japan. Thanks to all that served....man and woman. Semper Fi!!

I just found this site and I love it. I really loved my time in the Corps. I find myself remembering and pulling strengh from the time I spent as a Marine when ever I have difficult moments. I am a better person because I was and still am a Woman Marine.

My daughter is in Week 6 of boot camp at Parris Island. How thrilling for all of us. She is the 2nd female and 4th member in our family to join the services (in war time). Her aunt joined the Marines in 1943. Her grandpa was in the Army Air Corp and later USAF, Korea and Viet Nam, and retired after 23 years. Her uncle was a Green Beret Viet Nam. This is a great website and I can't wait to show it to her when she graduates on Jul 2. OORAH!

My only wish is that back in the 60's we could have done half as much as the WM's are allowed to do today. Not long after I was discharged they started letting woman stay in if they wished, once they got Pregant. I would have stayed. I love the Marine Corps till my dying day.

I would like to see more articles about Women in the Marine Corp. I believe the women should be called "The Few, The Proud, and The Elite"

I do not have a branch of service. I am however, a librarian. Worked public service for 15 years. LOL
Hi, I am not in the service. I have been visiting the Operation PAL site and have been writing letters of support. I found your website there and have enjoyed reading up on what you have done. I have adopted a Marine unit that is in Afghanistan and it includes six women. Really admire you all. God watch over each of you and bless you. Hopefully I will hear from former WM's while I was on tour at Parris Island. The Corps was different back in those days. It was peacetime and we transfered mostly on the east coast. I remained at Parris Island throughout my enlistment. Worked in 3rd Bn. where male marines were processed. I did enjoy my enlistment and we had full access to all kinds of activities. Sgt Fox was our 1st Sgt and Gussie Baker our CO. We were spit and polished...Semper Fi
